The Compilation #1

Writer's picture: LAURISSALAURISSA

As life rapidly moves forward, and we move with it- we constantly come into contact with and consume everything we open our eyes and minds to. The Compilation will be the quality content and cream of everything life throws at me. It will encapsulate anything I will recommend to the absolute max.

The Marketi

I cannot recommend this enough! You guys do not understand how talented, and creative, and down to Earth this brand is. Maybe, it’s the complete bias and adoration talking- but this is the way of the future. From every image, product, and person you will see on this platform- you can see the love and mana that exudes from them!

The Marketi is a brand that celebrates the Samoan culture and gives back to its community. The brand is completely sustainable, it’s artists thriving by using all natural resources (such as plant fibre) and natural methods of practice (such as traditional weaving). Every piece is carefully curated to perfection and edifies the strength in cultural identity.

The products work purposefully to preserve culture through your purchases! One hundred percent of the profits will be sown into the Pacific, meaning every dollar you spend will go directly to the artisans that created it!

Coming very soon to their website will be the Meaalofa Collection! I cannot wait to buy everything! Don‘t be surprised if they make many features in the future. Sorry, not sorry.

Poetry In The Park

Poetry In The Park
Poetry In The Park

What can I say about this event!? They have have taken every word captive, along with your attention, until you are hanging off their every word! And believe me, you will! Poetry In The Park is a super dope space where poets, rappers, and native tongue speakers come together to share their art... in the park (yes, just like the name suggests).

The stage is open to anyone who is willing to share their gift through the power of words. Showcasing poetry as a great form of expression, rather than an English lesson. The space encourages creativity, and owning ones voice. No matter how weird or wacky you are, the stage is yours to own. Where you can break the rules and be yourself!

Let me tell you, the energy and the support in this event is unreal. It is the most collaborative and welcoming space you could step into. Instead of conforming to the culture of a certain environment, it embraces everyone’s experiences and perspectives to create a new culture. One that transcends beyond language barriers and differing opinions. Just people gathered, who are changing the world one word at a time.

Boxing

Okay, but when I finished my first class I really would not have recommended this to anyone.

I died. The coach proceeded to ask me whether I would join the boxing class again, and my body shouted NOOO. But my mind had other plans, and suddenly I was back for another week.

But despite the high physical exhaustion you may go through while boxing, I highly recommend it. Why? Because for me it literally pushed me out of my comfort zone and compelled me to keep trying and failing and trying again. It taught me about perseverance, how to push through the pain and impending lactic acid. It has also shown me about how the quality of every movement counts, that an inch is a milestone. One worth running and reaching for.

I am not a pro, or even really good at it yet haha- but it is worth it. (Wow, Laurissa, you really know how to sell it *facepalm). It’s hard. But rewarding ? YES. But seriously, try it for yourself. ”YoU’lL eNjoY iT.”

FR though, you will ;)

that’s all for now folks.

FIN.
